I’ve said before that she’s my role model.
She’s inspired me again.
Yesterday, as we went for our evening walk, you could still
feel it in the air, that the rain stopped not long ago. The air was still damp
and cool, the road was still just a little wet and the drops of water were
still dripping from the trees. It did feel good after a long day at work.
However my mind was still in the office.
There was a metal railing along the pavement where we were
walking, and some raindrops were still stuck to it. My daughter saw the drops
and screamed with joy, “bubbles”!
She then went to on to touch one of the ‘bubbles’ and
couldn’t control her joy. “Ooh! Cold –Cold bubbles! Mummy! Cold-Cold Bubbles”,
she said pointing the drops and jumping at the same time. Her wide-eyed look
eventually turned into a laugh and she jumped and laughed for at least a
minute! My wife and I couldn’t help but smile.
I work on the 30th Floor overlooking the sea and
some iconic buildings, but the sight never made me laugh. We see beautiful
things everyday and barely crack a smile. I’m inspired by her and hope I can
start getting a little more joy out of the ‘bubbles’ that I see.
